New Hampshire Property for Sale:
Rae Trafton is a NH native who grew up near the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where many of her family members were employed. She spent her summers on Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham at her parents’ and grandparents’ camps on Meader’s Point.
Rae has lived most of her life in NH, but also spent many years outside Washington, DC, in Fairfax County, VA, and five years in Bucks County, PA. Before getting into real estate, she worked as a federal contractor in all phases of the business from contract negotiation, product development, marketing, and classroom training. After purchasing and selling many homes on her own throughout the years, it was a natural move for Rae to become a Real Estate Agent and Realtor® in 2008. She enjoys sharing her multidisciplinary skills in house design, land acquisition, construction lending, and construction with her clients. Rae’s emphasis on training and education gives her clients an unmatched edge via a thorough understanding of the real estate transaction process, from negotiations to close. Bringing first-time home buyers to homeownership is a touchstone for her and special joy.
While living in Canterbury, NH for ten years, Rae developed a mini-farm “Morning Crow Farm,” which produced rare and exotic chickens (and colored eggs!) as well as a wide range of organically grown fruit and vegetables. Through marketing on Facebook, the farm developed a following, and she hatched/sold thousands of chicks each year. She is clearly an animal lover, and can often be seen on leisurely walks with her Australian Shepherd, “Ozzy.”
An avid outdoorswoman, Rae enjoys kayaking the many peaceful ponds, rivers, and lakes in the state. She wholeheartedly believes in the phrase “Love Where You Live” – be it a primary residence or vacation getaway. After building her self-designed custom home in Alton, Rae returned to her first love, Merrymeeting Lake, where she now enjoys waterfront living year-round and is a member of the Merrymeeting Lake Association. Rae enjoys the whole range of water sports and boating here, as well as dining out, the arts, and music at local venues such as the Bank of NH Pavilion and Pitman’s Freight Room in Laconia. Sharing the joy of living on or around the water with clients seeking their own piece of paradise is one of her favorite things to do.
Rae has raised three girls, the last of whom graduates college in Spring 2020. Her eldest works for the VA Benefits programs in Philadelphia; one is a volcanologist in Oregon, and the soon to be graduate is a BioChemistry major who will be employed by NIH/National Cancer Institute in 2020. During her daughters’ time in school, she was very active in fundraising for the marching band, the French Club (through which efforts dozens of Belmont High School students visited France), and team feeds and activities with the Cross-Country and Track teams at BHS.
Rae’s love of New Hampshire and knowledge of its best-kept secrets allows her to provide clients with insights and guidance to achieve their homeownership goals and dreams. As she has lived in multiple regions around the state, she brings her unique perspective of living in NH to each home sale or purchase. She would love nothing better than to help you find that sweet spot to call home!
