Marilyn Richards is a long-time resident of NH. She has lived in several regions including the Lower and Upper Valley (Mascoma Lake) area, the Sunapee area (Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee), and the Lakes Region (Moultonborough/Lake Kanasatka and Laconia/Lake Winnisquam). She raised two sons in Mascoma Valley; they graduated from Mascoma Valley Regional High School and attended St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine. They are both employed as CPAs.

Marilyn has always been involved with her local community. She worked on a committee for the Town of Enfield’s Master Plan, where she helped to develop a recreational area for the town. She was Co-Founder of the preschool for the town of Enfield (Mascoma Cooperative Preschool). She coached the Jr. High school boy’s baseball team for Indian River School, taught Red Cross swimming lessons for the town of Enfield, and assisted with running the USA swim meets at Dartmouth College for the youth Team (North Country Aquatic Club).

Over the years, Marilyn owned and operated three businesses in West Lebanon, NH providing retail for home accessories, paper products, and holiday goods as well as decorating services for malls, estates and private homes.

Other prior work experience includes store management in the Personnel Dept. for a large chain, with responsibilities ranging from training employees and banking to bookkeeping and interior design.

Marilyn is the owner and head designer of “Designing Women Interiors.” She has assisted in the interior design of many multi-million dollar waterfront homes in the Lakes Region and Lake Sunapee, as well as in private camps, homes, and businesses.

Additionally, she participated in the design and management of home remodels. Working closely with contractors, she handled consultations, staging, purchasing and supplying furniture as well as everything needed for a home. She has been involved with interior design projects up and down the East Coast including Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Key West, Florida.

Marilyn has lots of interests and seems to always end up on or near the water! Her favorite pastimes include Sailing in the Caribbean,

paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, biking, and hiking. She has a great love for working and training sporting dogs and enjoys CrossFit training, ballroom dancing and live music.

Marilyn’s clients appreciate her integrity, attention to detail, and her ability to visualize and implement improvements to help them turn their house into their home!
