Laconia is the largest city on the lake, with a population of approximately 17,025 residents. Laconia has become famous for its annual “Motorcycle Weekend” at Weirs Beach. Alton has the smallest number of people at 2,035 residents. Center Harbor is centrally located between Meredith and Moultonborough on Route 25 at the western end of Lake Winnipesaukee. Moultonborough has about 66 miles of shoreline, and Alton has 33 miles.
