Lake Winnipesaukee is the Largest Lake in New Hampshire

Lake Winnipesaukee is located in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, southwest of Laconia, and surrounded by foothills. The Lake contains at least 258 islands, half of which are less than a quarter-acre in size, is surrounded by several mountain ranges, and is indented by several peninsulas. It consists of approximately 72 square miles of water surface area, providing countless opportunities to explore. No two islands are alike, and they range from small privately owned land to large summer communities. It is roughly a 63-mile scenic drive around the lake which encompasses 8 scenic lakefront towns. The shoreline ranges from sandy beaches and rocky coves, making for beautiful views. This is why many New Englanders consider this area their perfect getaway spot.

The deepest point in the lake is 212 feet. A great way to view the gorgeous scenery is by renting a boat or taking an excursion cruise out on the water. Lake Winnipesaukee offers excellent opportunities to catch salmon, trout, pickerel, and more if you prefer fishing over swimming.
