For the second weekend in a row, Meredith and the entire Lakes Region were booming with lots of activity. Last weekend it was the New England Pond Hockey and this weekend anglers from all over were out there in full force all over the lakes, bringing in all sorts of trophy fish as you can see from some of the pictures. In addition to various prizes for the largest catch, many bob houses appeared to be competing against each other with all sorts of amenities. It’s an eye-popping cottage industry out there. Many of them look like real doll houses with wood stoves, sleeping accommodations and even a home brewing facility in one!
The top prize was a $15,000 award, second $5,000 and $3,000 for the third prize for some lucky fisherman. Individual prizes were also given for various fish categories.
This is another quality event that all of us in the Lakes Region are so proud of and another reason we call the Lakes Region home.
Next weekend you can look forward to the World Championship Sled Dog races which will be held in Laconia and I think for once there will be an oversupply of snow! Looking forward to this great event… Mushers will be coming from all over!
