One of the “Twin Towns” of the Lakes Region, Tilton hosts Exit 20 on Interstate 93 a major jumping off point for local excursions. Located at the southwest corner of Belknap County, it’s a local business and trade center. The 60+ store Tanger Factory Outlet Mall, Lowes, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Staples, J.Jill group distribution, B.J.’s Wholesale and other retailers, grocery chains & numerous chain restaurants have opened up at exit 20. A number of small industrial companies have located or expanded here. Tilton’s Riverfront Park project, fronting on the Winnipesaukee River, has revitalized the downtown district. Tilton boarders Lake Winisquam – New Hampshire’s 3rd largest lake. The Lochmere Country Club is located on route 3.
